What growth did you experience as a future teacher this week?

Majority of my growth came from learning about assessments and the process that goes into them. It was interesting to see all of the research that goes into writing a good assessment and how some questions have been proving not to provide accurate results like the all of the above questions. Some of the slide I found interesting was the test review ones, because I found a lot of my teachers teaching to their test even in college classes. I find this process over time has students rely on the study sessions instead of trying to apply the information they learning from the class. There is a balance between giving students topics that might be on the test to having them see the questions of the test.

What challenges are you facing in your growth as a future teacher?

Some of the challenges I am facing is trying to balance everything and find the time to write lessons and questions. I’m sure as teacher this will become slightly easier because teacher will be my job and I won’t have to worry about so many other variables. Also, trying to apply all of the knowledge I am learning, but still not working with students has been kind of difficult. When writing lesson plans it is difficult to know the content that students are learning in the grade and how an actual student might react to a lesson plan we have written.
